Adults Assessments

Adult hearing assessments are performed using noise reducing headphones or insert earphones in a sound treated room that meets the ANSI standards. The tests used may comprise of any of the following depending on the requirements based on the individuals’ history:

  • Pure tone audiometry
  • Tympanometry
  • Impedance Audiometry (Acoustic Reflexes)
  • Speech tests
  • Otoacoustic Emission testing

Paediatric Assessments

Hearing assessments performed on children vary depending on the child’s age and abilities. The most appropriate tests to be used to assess your child’s peripheral and central hearing skills are decided on the day of the appointment. They may comprise of any of the following tests:

  • Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA)
  • Play Audiometry
  • Pure tone Audiometry
  • Tympanometry
  • Impedance Audiometry
  • Speech Tests (age appropriate for the child)
  • Auditory Processing tests
  • Otoacoustic Emission Testing
