Management / Remediation for APD

At the completion of the assessment the results will be discussed with you along with an overview of the management options based on these results. Soon after a detailed report outlining the results, the recommended remediation and various tactics to support the child in their daily lives will be sent to yourself, any referring doctor/s (NB: a referral is not necessarily required) and the school.

The management / remediation strategies may include any of the following:

  • Remediation using specific auditory training programs
  • Environmental Modifications
  • Specific strategies to be used in the classroom, at home and by the individual with an APD
  • Use of an FM (Frequency Modulated) system
  • Referral to other Allied Health Professional as required to assist in auditory training
  • Meeting with the school special needs teacher or educational psychologist to discuss appropriate support / tactics to use within the class
